Introduction


The Islamic Studies’ faculty of Al-Mustafa Open University has been established in response to people’s interest in religious teachings while keeping in mind the difference in cultures and views.
Policy making, planning, educational guidance as well as course quality and quantity development in different languages are among this faculty’s tasks. The faculty takes advantage of the capacities of Al-Mustafa representatives around the world as well as the cooperation of Al-Mustafa’s professors, graduates and the well-informed who are familiar with various regions’ cultural and intellectual needs.
The faculty aims to expand its courses to a diverse audience while responding to their various languages and intellectual needs.

Goals

    
1.    Presenting Islamic sciences based on circumstances and appropriateness  

2.    Tailoring between knowledge and skills required

3.    Main streaming Islamic thought to the western world to identify the capabilities of modern Islamic beliefs
4.    Identifying weaknesses and damages in popular Islamic thought when faced with contemporary events and contemporary human

5.    Confronting doctrines opposing the religious life in the context of modern societies
 

Policies


1.     Emphasis on depth of content whilst adhering to the three principles of: speed, accuracy and briefness of discussions.
2.    Taking into account sectarian and religious sensitivities
3.    Emphasis on the positive arguments while avoiding the negative
4.    Possibility of module equation with Al-Mustafa’s courses in accordance with the regulations
5.    Using capacities of learning centers and other local organizations
